Press Release by Billericay Brewing 3rd June 2013
Billericay Brewing Company Ltd will be opening their specialist beer shop “The Essex Beer Shop” at 11:00am on Friday 14th June 2013. Local MP John Baron will be performing the “cutting of the tape”. The shop is located at 54B/C Chapel Street, Billericay, CM12 9LS.
The Essex Beer Shop will stock Billericay Brewing’s own beers as well as beers from other local Essex and London microbreweries. In addition, it will stock other local drinks and food products and have a regularly changing guest beer range from other UK and international breweries. A microbrewery will be installed on site later this year.
For the opening weekend free tastings of the beers available in the shop will take place, there will be special discounts and Fathers’ Day gifts will be available. For the future, regular tastings are planned, including food and beer matching. When the brewery is operating it will be possible to visit the brewery on special open days.
Billericay Brewing was established in 2012 by former teacher and industrial chemist Trevor Jeffery. The company’s aim is to make craft ales of taste and character. Billericay Brewing joined The East Anglian Brewers Cooperative and has been making collaborative beers with Dominion Brewery Company, based near Moreton in Essex. Their first beer Mayflower Gold, a highly flavoured golden beer, has been enthusiastically received by beer aficionados. It is available in bottles and has appeared at a number of beer festivals on draught. The second beer, A Mild With No Name, has just been produced and will be available for the first time in bottles when the shop opens.
The shop will have the following opening hours:
Thursday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm.
Friday: 9:30am – 8:00pm.
Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm.
Sunday: 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
